How to find inactive or unused Slack channels

Chronicle provides three features to help you find inactive or unused channels, all accessible on the Channels page in Chronicle's dashboard:

  • Channel Activity Scanner – A high-level overview showing when each channel last had activity, with an easy way to bulk-archive inactive channels.
  • Scheduled Inactive Channel Reports – Regular reports sent to #chronicles, letting you and other admins know when channels become inactive so you can act quickly. Enable and configure this under Automatic Channel Archiver on the Channels page.
  • Interactive Channel Notifications – Alerts sent directly to an inactive channel (or to #chronicles) when Chronicle detects inactivity, giving members or admins the option to archive, skip, or ignore the channel. Enable and configure this under Automatic Channel Archiver on the Channels page.
